We don’t really need to invest a lot of money in ‘em, though. Obama’s point is pretty clear, and quite apt: Romney’s ignorance on military matters mistakes quantity for quality.

His ignorance isn’t exclusive, it’s something that defense contractors use to pray on Congress critters. Call them up and express “concern” over how there’s not as many cruisers as the other guy has, not as many destroyers, and how this leaves a “gap” that means America’s weaker than its enemies. Then sell a bigger fleet by playing up how many jobs will be created with all that ship construction, jobs that constituents will be ever so happy for.
