Departments Slow to Police Their Own Abusers - the New York Times

Again and again, you see that the police are a law unto themselves. They suffer no consequence when they break laws, knowing that other officers will protect them. They can do anything they like to you and your family, unless you can capture their actions on camera (funny how officers are so hostile to being filmed and keep arresting members of the public with cameras even though it is lawful across the country to film public interactions on streets and sidewalks).

I do not know what it will take to reverse this trend.
