I read the original article and looks to me like the title of Coons’s old college magazine article plays it pretty straight; at least about his new-found enthusiasm for Marxism as a consequence of his time in Kenya. No attempt at hyperbole or humor or self-satire that I could detect.

Coons came back from Kenya a Marxist. How he believes today may be a different story, and if so he ought to speak up about any change of heart
