Police: Zimmerman says Trayvon decked him with one blow, then began hammering his head

With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.

It still doesn’t explain what happened before this Ie; Zimmerman getting out of his car and what kind of confrontation occurred that might have provoked Trayvon if this is in fact what happened. There is also the something like 50 calls Zimmerman made in the month before this shooting to the police. It sounds to me like maybe Zimmerman snapped sometime in the recent past that led to this tragedy. If Trayvon did attack Zimmerman post initial confrontation it might have in fact been self defense when Zimmerman pulled his gun. Getting your head slammed into the sidewalk is a pretty serious attack.
