refusal to even discuss policy with the president smacks of scam

Somewhere along the line in American politics the “slippery slope” idea came into the picture and has pretty much paralyzed both sides on compromises.

Raise taxes and slippery slope later we have communism.

Pass sensible gun laws and slipper slope later we have communism and govt run death camps for Americans.

Etc.
