say it again: it you want to defend your own home with your own gun, then I guess that is your good right and nobody is coming to take that away.

but do not delude yourself into thinking that a public active shooter situation is anything at all similar: there you have to have years of training and experience, good situational awareness and nerves of steel if you expect to do more good than harm.
