My outrage is not faux. Heston is dead. He is no more. He is an ex-actor. He is singing in the choir invisible. If Jim Carrey did a PSA gratis expressing his views there would be no problem. I don’t like cheap shots.

Chucky H. was a public figure, especially in his role as the NRA spokesman. Just being dead does not make him exempt from criticism or (weak) satire.

But to many, he was their Moses on the Mount, with the stone tablets in one hand and an assault weapon in the other - to criticize him is to criticize The Lord himself.
