There was such a scholar. And there isn’t a claim that Jesus had actually caused a ton of trouble for the Romans, so there’s no real reason they’d write about him. He didn’t launch a revolution, his followers were basically pacifists. Compared to other Jewish leaders, he wasn’t really a big deal in terms of threat to Rome.

The historicity of Jesus is not actually very important; there probably was a guy named something close to Jesus who was an apocalyptic Jewish prophet. Proving the actual historicity of any of his actions or sayings is basically impossible, though.

There was some writer who said that Jesus wouldn’t show respect to the “Roman” G-ds and pissed-off someone as a result ….
