Reminds me of the first time I saw a magazine at the newsstand called “The American Conservative”, thought “hey, this looks interesting”, and picked it up. I quickly figured out it was a Buchananite vehicle. But what I noticed about their pieces on the Iraq war is that with minimal editing, you could reprint them in “Mother Jones”, and nobody would know the difference. Right/left; not always a useful distinction.

Buchanan and Paul are definitely the axis around which the crazy right revolves, with an unhealthy dose of genteel racism, neo-Confederate revivalism, and conspiracist media thrown in.
