I found I can get a replacement hard drive that is equivalent to the noisy (maybe failing one) for just $50-70 on NewEgg.

This might be cheaper to fix than the Battery Death that occurred 2 months ago. Maybe I should consider upgrading the laptop into a gaming one.

Hard drives are probably the cheapest component of a computer to replace. The trick is in ensuring you get the data off of the failing one before it kicks the bucket for good.
