re: #284 windsagio
You lucky bastard. I wasn’t alive in 1972. I’da killed to see that show.
This is a true story. I was working out the musical score at home on my keyboard, and at the time, there was only some of those basic music books with 7-8 of the major songs. I wanted to work out all the scoring, the transitions, the underscore, the little nuances in the arrangements.
On day I was at the Mark Hellinger to see the show, a 2:00pm matinee, I was in the first row center. After the performance, everyone started to exit, the conductor LEFT the grand score on his podium, I guess he figured he’s be back in a hour after supper for the evening show.
I actually bent over the pit and had my hands on the score, I was going to grab it and walk out, which really would not have been hard to do.
I put it back.
