Murkowski is a lawyer, they could have asked her to sit in the committee hearings and allow her to ask questions. But since she’s probably on the fence as it is… going with a) someone who doesn’t have a vote; b) is anti-abortion; c) would likely have definitely supported Kavanaugh regardless if she was still in off, makes a ton of sense.
