Some recent discussion (here, I think) went into deli economics. The driving force for horrendous NYC prices was said to be the real estate value of the locations. (Also, good pastrami seems a bit labor and cow intensive.) The sisterhood at the local temple has sent us our annual April chance to buy into their Deli Day—serious sandwiches with imported (Birmingham) meat on local Catholic rye.
