What someone does with their own property is their own business. It may conform to your desires, or your fantasy of what their business model should be, or it may not. It may benefit them, or it may not.

It doesn’t matter, though—because it is the property owner’s call, not yours. Period. And for that reason, it doesn’t matter whether or not you see the logic in the property owner’s actions; it doesn’t even matter whether there is any logic in them.

Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I have not in any way disputed that it’s Viacoms call to decide how zealously to protect their product. I do however dispute their logic in this case. I don’t dispute that logic as part of a challenge to Viacom’s rights, I challenge it simply because it doesn’t make any sense, and the result - inability to post any clips from the show - is annoying.
