I Googled “Western Christian Empire.” because it sounds like a pundit catchphrase. And Lo! I found its possible origin, a Brit named David Murrin, who wrote a book entitled Breaking the Code of History. davidmurrin.co.uk

Murrin argues that, unless the Western world gets its act together, the Chinese and other non-Western “empires” will overtake the West and — horror of horrors — the West will lose its ascendancy.

I’m calling him a pundit, because it seems he’s an amateur historian. From his website: “David Murrin began his career as a geophysicist with a passion for military history and went on to become a leading fund manager.”
