I have not read Charles Murray’s Coming Apart (the book that Bush is referencing), but I did watch an long interview of him about that book on TV Ontario’s The Agenda. His comments in that interview did not come across as racist, rather he emphasized the similarity between black and white family breakdown; the difference being that black family breakdown was “30 years ahead” of white family breakdown. That is, black and white America was converging in regards to family breakdown, but the social context (not any genetic difference) meant that it occurred earlier in black America.

I cannot say whether Bell Curve is racist, but condemning Jeb Bush as a racist because he references a book by an author who also wrote something racist 20 years ago is like condemning Obama as a communist because of his relationship with Bill Ayers.
