We have seen this *exact* article in prominent outlets a half-dozen times now, always framed around the “tricky questions” related to youth transition. The answers to those questions are freely available but the press refuses to inform readers about them. https://t.co/7xrDpeXvVs

Also worth asking: If there’s such a foundational debate going on within the field of transition care, why does every one of these fucking articles include quotes from the same three sources? https://t.co/4VRa0uZoqk

This is a hallmark of moral-panic journalism, the use of examples that have nothing to do with the thesis. Why is a woman who transitioned in her 20s invoked in an article about adolescents? pic.twitter.com/lytZmGRFGP

Again, the kind of “jounalism” Kahn lionizes. Damn the facts, we gotta pretend both sides same thing, otherwise we let ourselves be ‘partisan’.
This is the result. This is the end result of ‘both sides same thing’. You give credence to the assholes that reality doesn’t support so ‘conventional wisdom’ can support them instead. And it’s not an accident of naivete, this is a result Kahn and others are explicitly reaching for.
