it may be tired, but its true. With the current tax code, it is virtually impossible to raise tax revenue by going back to whatever rates of Golden Yesteryear you want to quote.

But that’s simply wrong. You can show revenue dropping after the Bush cuts. If they were restored, you’d see that revenue again. That’s totally independent of the other state of the tax code.

Does the tax code need revision? Yes. Does that mean raising taxes somehow produces no more revenue? Obviously not.
