re: #291 WindUpBird Well I wouldn’t underestimate the influence of the ministers in those Churches. One of them in particular comes to mind when looking at our President’s background. But then, true they may not really hold much sway in the political trenches, for the reason that their allegiance to the Democrat party is unquestioned and that they really don’t have many “chips” to play. The Democrat leadership knows that voting bloc is solid in the camp, no matter how they actually legislate, so it makes more sense to use the political capital to go after swing voters. All they have to do is show up once during the campaign and shake a few hands and take pictures. OTOH, Dobson might just sit out a campaign, his support is not solid. He holds on to a few chips.
