Right about now, I imagine that many Republican strategists are beginning to get nervous. If this good economic news continues into the fall, they’re not gonna have much of anything to run on come the fall.

Firstly, they don’t have much of anything to run on now, not anything that’s factual or that will work with their voters. Fortunately for them, they don’t need anything to run on. Conservative cultists exist in a separate world, where the economy continues to tank and armies of blacks, Mexicans, and liberals lie in wait to round up free Americans and herd them into concentration camps as soon as the Kenyan is re-elected. Candidates can refer to this mythical world and have their base come out in droves to vote in the real one.
