The mainstream “intellectual” antisemitism in Tsarist Russia is pretty indistinguishable from the anti-Muslim writings of Spencer, Geller et al., search/replace “Jew” with “Muslim”, “Talmud” with “Koran”, etc.

It’s taking me forever to finish reading my book for exactly that reason—the similarities creep me out so I have to read it in small doses. Early antisemitism and the later pogroms were awful enough, but now I’m approaching WWII and really dreading it. Ugh.
