Hadrian’s Wall was effectively a publicity stunt.

The Great Wall failed because the guards sent to man it were isolated in the middle of fucking nowhere, so eventually they went native by taking wives from the local tribes and having children who they had more loyalty to than their Emperor.

And the Berlin Wall was never 100% effective, between those who smuggled themselves out and the CIA tunneling under the damned thing.

Trump knows this. He wants The Wall as a monument to himself, because gold-plated statues can be pulled down.
