I would like to think that too, but imagine, for example, if Sarah Palin throws her support behind Michelle, or if enough people see her as the anti-Obama (those who already see Obama as the anti-Christ) and she will find herself in the position of “front runner” and be that much harder to beat.

You’re basically talking about the same “supporters”, so there won;t be much gained
