the geniuses at Stirling responded by…putting a GIANT CAGE around it to prevent further vandalism.
this succeeded in pissing off everyone not already pissed off by it, because it now looked like a monument…commemorating Wallace’s execution by the English.

Consequently the statue has now been removed from Stirling and is now in hiding somewhere off in the depths of Scotland.

I would have liked to see it in person and hang a sign on it reading “Noted American Bigot and Misogynist” myself. /

Pretty good, all things considered. Mom’s doing a lot better, physically at least. On Saturday she was able to go outside for the first time in over two months.
