Why is this on anyone’s mind in 2014?

Because a tiny minority on the far left suffer from Palin Derangement Syndrome. They cannot confine themselves to simply mocking her mangling of the English language or to calling her appropriate names such as Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods. Instead they have to see her as having been part of some sort of crime or cover-up.
