I suspect he had mental problems. The mental stress of job loss of relationship problems make people snap. Also the economy has put a lot of stress on people. Remember all the insanity after 9-11? some people just freak out in crisis situations. I lot of the right wing rhetoric has been dishonest, alarmist and irresponsible lately. He obviously took this paranoia seriously (unlike Glenn Beck who’s just making money off it). How much direct influence this had on him is unknown but he obviously had other problems too.
