As noted in the thread, he’s pretty much gambling on a pardon by this point. Or has been promised one if the cooperation ceases, which (if Mueller can prove it) would be the best proof of obstruction of justice he could get.
Would it? Legally, I mean. IANAL, but I have read a lot of analysis that has had to admit that the Presidential pardon power is fairly broad: and that barring some situation, say, documenting an illegal quid pro quo with notarized signatures (and even Trump isn’t that stupid), there’s not much that can be done about it.
Of course, Trump pardoning Manafort would be taken (outside of the deluded Deplorable “base”) pretty much as an admission of guilt, but I wonder how much that would count for in a court of law….?
