Remember the pre-election polls showed Gallup might have done something to screw up their sample selection.

Wouldn’t trust Gallup these days to poll folks on which direction the sun rises. Meanwhile, Washington Post and ABC has support for an assault weapons ban at 58%:

And Pew’s got it at 55%:

Perhaps it’s a difference in questioning whether they support current laws versus proposed ones, but it certainly seems like there’s momentum behind new laws going forward.
