The only way to stop it is to dry up the money. Take out the businesses that exploit these folks and you solve the issue. Of course, I wonder just how many politicians would really go for that given how much of their money comes from such places.

i wouldn’t really say theyre exploiting them. paying a prep cook 3 bucks an hour in a restaurant stateside is like paying him 3 times more than he’d make in mexico. it’s a damn good deal for him, and us. if you actually had to pay him minimum wage, nearly every restaurant would go under.
