You have my sympathy (if you’re not too tough and rugged for that ;-) ) I was something of a basket case before my knee replacement last fall and that’s not even in the same category as amputation, so I can only imagine how you feel. The thing that helped me most was a friend who had had the surgery spending some time with me talking about her experience. Perhaps you can find someone who has been in your situation to talk to.
