yeah, the GOP has a proud history to look back on, unfortunately most of it is ancient history unless you want to throw Nixon a bone for the EPA and OSHA workplace advancements, granted most folks thought those were sops to the left so he could continue to have a free hand with his foreign policy ambitions, still, progress is progress. Perhaps, the last thing was Eisenhower’s (and the military industrial complex he loathed) push for an Interstate Highway System.

As for recent history, I’d be happy to listen to what DF and Kilgore could cite as accomplishments in the last 50 years that could be attributed to the GOP. I can’t think of a single thing that the GOP has done since Ford that I would deem as any kind of social progress or even in foreign policy that would be seen as making the world a better place.
