Given that several blogs were actively flogging their readership into full hate and violence mode for the last few weeks over this gathering, I’m not surprised turnout was low. There was a very high risk of something very bad happening.

Which says way, way more than I want to hear about the state of the US these days.

I didn’t hear about the gathering ya’ll were talking about.

But I do know this:

My cousin’s daughter married a Muslim, and converted.
I have seen the photos on her FB page of their family 4th of July celebration. I’ve seen my little cousin and her husband and kids at family Easter gatherings.

Muslims exist here who love this country, as well as their Christian relatives and this country’s celebrations. And if blogs are whipping people into a frenzy over a gathering before it happens, then people are indeed NOT going to show up.
