They are so out of control, it is not funny. One of the biggest problems is that the police get their info from DCF on what they are allowed to do. I have educated many a police officer as to the fact. It has been admitted to me that they do not have the time to be familiar with every law.. understandable.. so they rely on DCF to tell them what the rules are. DCF gets away with this crap because the proceedings are closed, to “Protect the child”. This leads to enormous abuses in the system. There are several officers here who now know thee truth. For instance, the police here thought they could take a child to the station, and let DCF question them without parental permission. Not so. That is a violation of both state and federal law. The schools will frequently do the same. This is all because of misinformation given to schools and police by DCF. It happens all over the country every day.
