Back in the early 80’s, right around the time I enlisted, a couple cars were drag racing down Hylan Blvd on Staten Island, NYC. A Corvette drifted into the curb, and was sent flying. It impacted a telephone pole about 12 feet up. It damn near disintegrated. The only parts that were easily identifiable were the tire/wheels. Aside from the tires/wheels all the bits of the debris from the crash site could have been carried away in buckets. Including the cars two occupants.
