Gonna have to test out my “hobo mode” any day now. Argh. Was being naive thinking that this summer would be another “summer of recovery.” Obviously we need to forget that. I feel like I’m repeating myself from years past. Again we will have another crappy fall and holiday season sales will be close to suckage. This is year three since the Meltdown of 2008. Almost. I’m sure it started before that and perhaps in 2006 making it 5 years or more. This is The Great Recession.

As I said, forget about major recovery until businesses are more certain of conditions. The toxic asset issue is still an issue, though it’s been reduced, and the political fighting in Washington also makes businesses nervous. Facing an uncertain tax and regulatory environment, most are choosing to just sit on their cash for now.
