In college I started having trouble one semester when I was prescribed an antidepressant that (while I was on it) messed up my ability to form long term memories.
So when i passed a statistic midterm, having learned nothing in the class and having deduced reasonable answers ENTIRELY by means that weren’t in the book (applying probability calculation instead of statistics) my teacher said it was impressive that I could pass without actually learning a single method that I was supposed to use.
