That scene took two days to film, because on the first day someone brought a bottle of Southern Comfort to the set, and Andy was taking nips between takes. By the end of the day, he was so hammered that the director sent him home.

LOL still, one of the great performances on his part. I remember seeing that film when I was younger, and at that time, I only knew Andy Griffith from The Andy Griffith Show. I was floored, to say the least - he played the cad to perfection.
