If the statement was for domestic consumption that might be the case. It’s also possible that they’re just talking shit for the sake of being difficult. It’s also possible that they have no intention of keeping up their end of the bargain and are making no secret about it. I have no doubt sanctions will be eased anyways and it looks like Obama has wrangled enough support in congress to at least avoid a vote on new sanctions. Iran really doesn’t have much of a reason to keep up their end, they’ll get sanction relief and don’t have to give up much aside from a few inspections.
