Seems like the trial is focused more around his tax chicanery than with anything more illicit, such as his lobbying activities, although perhaps that is due to the specifics of the charges. It is that a fair read of this?

There are two separate cases against Manafort. The first one he’s currently on trial for relates to tax and financial crimes.

The second is being an unregistered foreign agent.

The combination of the two goes to how he was a compromised and complicit crony for Trump and allowed foreign powers to exert leverage over Trumpworld in ways we still don’t fully understand.
