Same hear, my “old” sony Vaio single core with 1gig ram(the max) runs much better on Windows 7 according to subjective observations.

Bagua -

I assume these were “Clean Installs” or at minimum “dual boot.” Bet a “clean RE install” of XP would have also worked wonders.
