Independents are always temporarily embarrassed Republicans. All they need is some sort of excuse or rationalisation to wave away their nominal independence or undecidedness to pull the lever for the magic R.

Thankfully, no. Almost of a third of Colorado’s registered voters are independent, so if they voted Republican we would be Wyoming instead of bluish-purple.

You are right in a way though - most of the independents are not undecided or somewhere in between. Most of them almost always vote for the same party and just don’t want to be members for their own reasons.
