oh how the current GOP loves to say how the Dems fought against The Civil Rights Acts. And when I next bring up the conservative, vs progressive thing, AND, that all those Dems switched to GOP after the fact, I get bathed in spittle caused by their furious blathering and gnashing of teeth. Well at least two times I actually got wet… LOL

In fact, the Dems of that era did fight against civil rights- it was the GOP’s Eisenhower who signed the Republicans’ Civil Rights Act of 1960.

That came after the 125 hour filibuster by 18 Dems.

Also, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was supported by most Republicans, fought by many Dems.
