It really really bothers me, that its OK for police to beat the hell out of people for peacefully assembling but if they have a resolution that talks in vague terms about maybe-violence its a freakin’ national chrisis.

well that’s the joke, right?

the joke is this:

Hippies with little money and no power are held to a higher standard than the guys with the clubs, guns, cars, radios, organization, government and funding.

And naturally hippies are to blame for the homeless and mentally ill. Not the state! Not defunding respite care and mental health. no no. Must be hippies! The instant a homeless guy or someone mentally ill (often the same thing) shows up at OWS? then he’s a Hippie and the Hippies’ Fault.

That’s how the calculus works! It’s a great catch 22.
