Things being what they are these days, I’m pulling for Obama to be a fantastic, stunning success as president. If he can heave the country to its rightful place, I’ll happily eat a bakery’s worth of humble pie and — by gum — I’ll vote for him come 2012.

Of course, I’ll be shocked if he pulls it off.

I do have to admit, though, that what he’s done so far has been more centrist that just about anybody expected. Maybe he understands the country is a bit riled at the moment and unwilling to put up with nonsense.

Well, I expect him to suck like a supermassive black hole. We will see who is closer to right in 4 years, if we haven’t perished by then.
