That photo reminds me of a time long ago. I think it was in third grade which would have been like 1963 or so. A student who had a father that was in World War 2 had a photo book of death camp photos his father had taken and compiled his and from other soldiers that had to go into the camps.

I will never forget it. Photo after photo of things like those rings. Glasses, other personal items. But what stood out the most was the images of bodies stacked like wood on trains and outside of “the showers” from mass gassing and then being readied to be taken and disposed. There were also tons of images of the survivors. Thin frail and being freed. For a kid that was maybe 9 at the time, it left a real strong impression of what humans are capable of.

Every time I hear a Holacaust denier spout off I want to be there to slap them silly.
