‘False Balance’ in Media to Blame for Rise in Extreme Views

I’ve never been sure what to think of the Fairness Doctrine. It was popular on the Left, and some of the arguments for it sounded reasonable; however, I also heard some good arguments against it from the Right. It seems like if you agree with NPR here, you’re rejecting it. It does appear to be a double-edged sword, so perhaps those who support it need to rethink their position.
