What would replace a collapsed GOP? Freepers, Threepers, Libertarians and neoconfederates coalesced under a States Rights banner?

The Libertarians will probably gravitate towards the GOP. The SoCons/Neo-confederates will probably try to form their own party; a la the Dixiecrats.

And such a party would be successful in the Deep South, but that’s about it. They’d quickly find themselves an almost purely regional party.

The GOP, with the loss of the SoCons and their ilk, will reach out to the Libertarians to make up for the loss of their current base.
