That is what Meller has to present: a case that will force the GOP to act. They could certainly bring charges against Trump right now for conflicts of interest and gross violations of the Emoluments Clause, but that is not at all in their interest.

It’s truly unfortunate, but I would opine that expecting the GOP in this Congress to do diddly-squat about Donald Trump - no matter HOW airtight Counsel Mueller’s case(s) are or might be - is a fool’s errand. It will never be “in their interest” to do more about even the most egregious corruption from this Administration - even outright criminality - other than occasional bland boilerplate disapproval: the political equivalent of “thoughts and prayers”. While updating their resumés for the inevitable spike in Wingnut Welfare applications starting in November…..
