re: #340 RogueOne

Here is my beef (I know, red meat is bad for me). When we decide that the government has to protect us from ourselves then we allow others to decide what is and what isn’t appropriate for us. The right believe abortion is unhealthy, the Catholic hierarchy believes contraceptives are bad for us, Bloomberg thinks sugar and salt are bad for us, the left believes happy meals are bad for us, and the list goes on. I don’t think these things should be left to bureaucrats or a majority vote to decide, it should be left to the individual. Not every transaction between people needs to be regulated by the government.

First of all, let’s leave abortions and contraception out of this. The only reason they’re opposed is because they’re “sinful”.
Second, while it may be true that not every transaction should be regulated, when the regulation is in place and makes sense (like in the case of raw milk), there is no reason to oppose it.
Third, such regulation may be necessary when there is a big risk of misuse/confusion from ignorance, like in case of raw milk v. treated milk.

Otherwise, should raw milk be allowed to be offered in food joints? I mean, if everything goes? Don’t you see where it leads?
