McCain’s scared shitless. For the first time in awhile, he’s actually having to fight for his seat from a position of weakness. Not only is his party’s nominee toxic, but he can’t even rely upon party faithfulness because said nominee took a massive shit on John’s biggest talking point of being a war hero to applause from the party base. Attacking a popular president in defense of that nominee isn’t going to do him a bit of good.

I wonder how many voters in the Mountain and Pacific time zones vote later in the day or in the evening? There’s a very good chance that this election could be one of those one’s that gets called early, leading to Republicans in the Mountain and Pacific time zones not bothering to vote, while Democrats go to the polls to run up the score. That sort of thing hasn’t happened since Reagan, I’m guessing, but McCain has to be worried that if at 5 pm in Arizona the networks are reporting that Clinton has won Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina, that potential voters are going to go to dinner rather than the polls, right?
